Mental Health Australia
Focused Mental Education is honoured to be affiliated with Mental Health Australia, the national peak non‑government advocacy organisation dedicated to advancing mental health reform across the country. Representing over 140 member organisations, including service providers, lived experience groups, professional bodies, researchers and state/territory peaks, Mental Health Australia unites the sector to influence nationwide policy, elevate awareness, and support mentally healthy communities through evidence-based advocacy.
For more than 25 years, the organisation has led campaigns like World Mental Health Day, promoted inclusive mental health policy, and championed diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its work. Its strategic framework, Strategy 2024–2029, underpins its commitment to policy reform, consumer and carer leadership, and a cohesive national voice for the sector.

Community Mental Health Drug & Alcohol Research Network (CMHDARN)
Focused Mental Education is proud to be professionally affiliated with the Community Mental Health Drug & Alcohol Research Network (CMHDARN), a collaborative initiative led by the Mental Health Coordinating Council, the Network of Alcohol and other Drugs Agencies (NADA), and the NSW Mental Health Commission.
Since 2010, CMHDARN has played a key role in strengthening research capacity within the community-managed mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) sectors across New South Wales. Through its various initiatives, CMHDARN provides research mentoring, ethics consultation, and practice-led innovation grants, all designed to promote evidence-based practice, co-design, and consumer-led research. The network also offers accessible resources and toolkits on trauma-informed research, participatory practice, and service evaluation, helping bridge the gap between research and real-world impact.
Our affiliation with CMHDARN reflects our commitment to research-informed service delivery, sector collaboration, and continuous quality improvement, particularly at the intersection of mental health and substance use.

Focused Mental Education is proud to be affiliated with Sector Connect Incorporated, the peak organisation providing leadership and advocacy for the community services sector across the South‑Western Sydney Health District, with a specific focus on Campbelltown, Camden, Wollondilly, and Wingecarribee in New South Wales.
Sector Connect has over two decades (established in 1999) of experience strengthening regional capacity through strategic advocacy, sector development, training, and consultancy. They lead initiatives such as volunteer training, leadership networks, interagency collaboration, and grant support, enabling organisations to deliver more effective services for vulnerable communities. Focused Mental Education proudly affiliates with the Australian & New Zealand Mental Health Association (ANZMHA), a non‑government, non‑profit organisation that has united mental health leaders since 1999. ANZMHA supports the personal and professional wellbeing of the mental health workforce through educational resources, annual conferences, and advocacy across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
ANZMHA hosts national-level events like the International Mental Health Conference and the Frontline Mental Health Conference, and provides free member access to newsletters, learning materials, and CPD‑accredited professional development opportunities. Through these initiatives, the association empowers professionals by fostering collaboration, sharing best practice, and promoting systemic reform, while amplifying lived experience and supporting First Nations leadership across both countries.

Way Ahead Workplaces
Focused Mental Education proudly affiliates with WayAhead Workplaces, a specialist program of the WayAhead Mental Health Association NSW dedicated to championing workplace mental health across New South Wales and beyond. Since its establishment in 2006, WayAhead Workplaces has brought together business and sector leaders to connect, collaborate, and innovat, sharing best practices and building skills through peer networking, quarterly forums (in Sydney and Brisbane), and the annual members’ conference.
Through a curated members-only resource library, bi‑monthly newsletters, discounted event participation, and dedicated support for HR, OH&S, injury management, and wellbeing professionals, the network equips its community to design mentally healthy workplaces, advance evidence-informed policies, and promote staff wellbeing in meaningful and sustainable ways.

Life In Mind
Focused Mental Education proudly aligns with Life in Mind, a national suicide prevention knowledge‑exchange initiative delivered by Everymind and funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Health. Life in Mind connects practitioners, policy‑makers, and community workers to translated research, national and state strategies, best‑practice data, and the National Communications Charter, which guides safe and inclusive messaging about suicide and mental health across sectors.
The program fosters cross‑sector collaboration, shared learning, and evidence-informed responses by providing an accessible digital portal with resources such as translated research summaries, policy briefs, case studies, and the Charter toolkits. Its ongoing enhancement supports workforce uptake of effective, whole‑community approaches to suicide prevention by bridging the gap between research and practice.
Through this affiliation, we reaffirm our commitment to humane, evidence-based public messaging and collaborative prevention strategies that prioritise hope, lived experience and stigma reduction.
